DR. CHRISTY WENTWORTH

Dr. Christy Wentworth is the Founder and President of the Wentworth Institute for Science and Health. She is the driving force for the creation of WISH in hopes that the group can be a bastion of support for the scientific community to be able study and research science for the pure vision of advancing scientific discovery. She hopes WISH will bring donors and recipients together to help increase scientific understanding and create a bridge for the general public to care more about and better understand science. She has previously led various product and treatment research and development initiatives for a variety of pharmaceutical and industrial activities, including microbicidal, antiviral, probiotic, and orphan drug treatments. Christy graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Genetics. She received her Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University where she studied pathogenic and commensal bacterial interactions with mammalian intestinal epithelium.

ISAAC ACQUAH

Mr. Isaac Acquah is the Vice President of the Wentworth Institute for Science and Health (WISH). He is an accomplished Learning and Development Professional with extensive leadership and problem solving experience as well as a solid history of sales success. As the Director of Learning and Development for one of the largest global specialty insurers, he is in charge of leading the company’s global learning and development strategic initiatives. As Vice President of WISH he hopes to be a driving force in delivering on the promise of the organization to inspire the scientific community by providing innovative solutions to fund scientific research and as well as bring greater awareness to the extraordinary societal value of long term investment in the field of science. Mr. Acquah graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He has over 17+ years of experience in sales, learning & development.

KERRY WENTWORTH

Ms. Kerry Wentworth has been working in the non-profit events area for several years. She brings the expertise of networking people together for specific causes in social settings to the Wentworth Institute for Science and Health. In Carl Sagan’s words, which Kerry famously lives by, “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” Keeping these words in mind, as part of the executive Board, Kerry hopes to help connect people of differing backgrounds and circumstances through WISH to empower them to help bring forth a better future through Science. Kerry graduated from the University of Georgia and currently works and lives with her family in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia.

 

KELLY WENTWORTH

Ms. Kelly Wentworth has spent over 20 years volunteering in the non-profit world, currently serving as a leader of the Atlanta Unity Mosque. Kelly has also works as a Senior Implementation Consultant for Cvent in the meetings and event industry for over 13 years. She hopes that by working with W.I.S.H. that she can help cultivate the love of science, health, and life in others that she has. Kelly received bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Foreign Languages from Tennessee Technological University. She also served the United States Department of State in Yemen as an English and American Culture instructor.

PALJEET SINGH

Mr. Paljeet Singh marches to the beat of his own drum. His past experience in software sales naturally lends itself to his goal of fostering strategic relationships and gathering funding for W.I.S.H. His hope is that W.I.S.H. finds full funding for all of its initiatives.

MELISSA RICHARDS

Mrs. Melissa Richards is a Certified Public Accountant serving in a financial advisory capacity for the Wentworth Institute for Science and Health. In the words of Marie Curie, “Nothing in life is to be feared, it only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” Mrs. Richards hopes that WISH will help increase this understanding by bringing donors and recipients together. Mrs. Richards graduated Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. She has worked in the financial service industry for over 25 years. Currently she serves as Director of Operations Efficiency for a regional bank.

 

DR. ANALISE REEVES

Dr. Analise Reeves is an experienced molecular geneticist and synthetic biologist, whose career has focused on developing and engineering biologics based therapeutics. As the current Head of Synthetic Biology Operations at a mid-sized biotechnology company, she coordinates projects across teams from the early discovery stage through entry into Phase 1 clinical trails. Her hope as a Scientific Advisor for WISH is to create new opportunities for deserving young scientists that lead to exciting future insights and innovations, and to pay forward the invaluable support and mentorship she received during her own education. She received her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Cammie Lesser at Harvard Medical School and holds a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University, and a Bachelors of Science from University of Louisiana- Lafayette. She currently resides in Cambridge, MA with her husband, Patrick, and two children, James and Katharine.
